Digital Desk : Pakistani airstrikes on eastern Afghanistan claimed 46 lives mostly women and children on Wednesday. The airstrikes in Afghanistan's Barmal district of Paktika province has left six people injured.
Dhemaji/Dibrugarh: In a sad turn of events, Dhemaji attack victim Nandita Saikia lost her final battle of life. Nandita was recuperating in Brahmaputra hospital, Dibrugarh after being fatally attacked by one Rintu Sarma in Dhemaji town.
On Sunday, Rintu Sarma, who was working as a library assistant in Dhemaji's Moridhal College, attacked Nandita Saikia and Kashmiri Dutta with a machete, fatally injuring both the girls in broad daylight.
Both the victims were taken to Dibrugarh's Brahmaputra Hospital, for advanced treatment. It may be mentioned here that the doctors treating Nandita Saikia announced yesterday that her condition has started deteriorating with her brain not responding to medicines.
Widespread protests have broken out in various parts of the state seeking justice for the victim as well as stringent punishment for the accused Rintu Sarma.
