Digital Desk : Pakistani airstrikes on eastern Afghanistan claimed 46 lives mostly women and children on Wednesday. The airstrikes in Afghanistan's Barmal district of Paktika province has left six people injured.
Dhemaji: Dhemaji attack victim Nandita Saikia is in critical condition, said Brahmaputra hospital authority.
Reportedly, Nandita’s brain has stopped functioning and her body is not responding to medicines administered by the doctors.
The doctors confirmed that Nandita continues to remain on ventilator support and the doctors are trying all efforts to revive Nandita.
A doctor of Brahmaputra hospital said, “We are trying our level best to recover her, she is on a ventilator.”
“The main problem is that she is not responding to any medicine, and her brain stop functioning.” added the doctor.
Earlier, on Sunday, a fourth-grade employee identified as Rintu Sarma of Moridal College, Dhemaji, stabbed Nandita Saikia and Kashmiri Dutta, students of the same college, with a sharp weapon.
Following the heinous incident, a massive protest broke out in the entire Dhemaji district along with Dibrugarh, seeking stringent punishment for the accused Rintu Sarma.
Authorities are yet to confirm why Rintu Sarma took this drastic decision of attacking both female students of the same college.
