Digital Desk: In connection with the ragging case involving Anand Sarma, the Dibrugarh University Anti-Ragging Committee held a meeting where one of the accused virtually gave a statement to the committee.
The high-level committee meeting reportedly began at 11 am on Friday.
The committee did not reveal the name of the accused, who gave the statement virtually.
The committee stated that five more students will testify in the case on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the committee was unable to meet the defendants in jail since the prison authorities denied them permission to meet with them for a statement.
The committee also took statements from the registrar, warden, teachers, and security guards.
Reportedly, Prof. Jiten Hazarika, the university's vice-chancellor, will give a statement in the evening.
On Saturday, the anti-ragging committee will submit its report.
