    Dibrugarh district administration declares dry day on October 14 and 15

    Dibrugarh: The administrative district in Assam, Dibgurah, declared dry days on October 14 and 15. Deputy Commissioner, Pallav Gopal Jha, has declared these days as dry days based on number 52 resolution by order.





    The declaration will be in force from the day of Vijaya Dashami until the Durga idol's immersion gets completed in Dibgurah .





    All the liquor shops and warehouses in Dibgurah district are directed to remain close on the very day. It list for shut down also includes the retail sellers, clubs, business establishments selling liquors. Breach of this directive in any sort is responsible for severe action under Excise Law.

    In another event, police will exercise severe actions to regulate the usage of illegal liquor and sales and gambling throughout the four days of the Durga Puja festival in Hailakandi district . 





    The Superintendent of Police, Gaurav Upadhyay, stated they have already launched a helpline number to get liquor and gambling-related complaints from ordinary people. The helpline number is 6026900975.





    The district administration has previously declared dry days on October 14 and 15. However, Upadhyay added that the police would continue vigilance throughout the district to get the illegal liquor dealers. He said that their prime objective is to check crime throughout the festival. All the organizers have been ordered to place CCTV in puja pandals. There will be traffic constraints in the city.
