locals were detained in Assam on Sunday after drugs worth Rs 18 crore were
discovered in their hands in Guwahati and the nearby Kamrup district, according
to police. According to a senior officer, the Assam Police's Special Task Force
officers, along with Kamrup police, pursued and captured two accused
traffickers in a vehicle.
According to STF Deputy Inspector General Partha Sarathi Mahanta, police
forces were deployed when it was learned that a Manipur-based organization was
planning to transit drugs through Assam.

overturned vehicle extensively.

vehicle yielded 100 soap boxes containing 1.3 kg of heroin." Another
search of their leased property in Jalukbari, Guwahati, yielded 65 more packets
of heroin totaling 900 grams, according to the DIG.

people linked to the network.
