"First check your department’s misdeeds and then assess us...": ULFA-I on Assam DGP GP’s remarks
DGP spoke to the youth and urged them not to give their life to an authoritarian organization...

Digital Desk: United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent), a banned militant outfit, responded to DGP GP Singh's statement on Sunday by stating that the senior cop should instead focus on the misdeeds conducted by his department rather than counting crimes and actions conducted by the outfit.

Gyanendra Prasad Singh, the Director General of Assam Police, on October 28 spoke to the youth and urged them not to give their life to an authoritarian organization. He requested, emphasizing the pointlessness of such actions.

Talking to X, GP Singh wrote, “Once again, the same story. They won’t change. Young friends from Assam, don’t waste your life for an autocratic organization. Your life has no value there. Please, please, please”, in connection to the execution of two young ULFA-I cadres Abinash Kalita (Vibhakar Kalita) alias Pranab Asom and Tanmoy Bora alias Dwip Asom.

As the militant group attacked GP Singh's statement, it stated, "Recall that on September 17, 2022, Pranab Asom and another cadre escaped from the camp." However, the individuals overseeing our security detained the two in the early hours of September 18, 2022. After being arrested, one of our cadres shot the two at a distance rather than bringing them back to the camp. Despite reports that the two were killed in the disputes, our leader has previously stated in a televised interview and our most recent video message that there was a clash. However, we held the cadres responsible for the killing of the two fugitive cadres by our organization's laws and Code of Conduct, and all required measures are now being initiated. On the other hand, what actions has Gyanendra Prasad Singh, the chief of the Assam Police, taken?

“How many false encounters, police sexual assault, physical abuse, trade in fake gold and drugs, money laundering by the police, police member suicides, etc. have occurred in Assam since you became DGP [special]? Are your actions not associated with crime? But we have never avoided discussing the specifics of that episode. ULFA-I stated in their press release that "the outfit has been vocal and always clear of its law and code of conduct."

The organization has also asked senior officers to refrain from interfering in their affairs by publicly criticizing ULFA-I on TV and other media platforms.

"Therefore, concentrate on organizing and streamlining your department rather than focusing on our allegations and messages. First, wash your ass. We are oriented toward our Constitution and we live by it, just as you do. Every leader, officer, member, and member respects the constitution of the organization," ULFA-I stated.

ULFA-I attacked GP Singh, accusing him of orchestrating the murder of six young men in Assam during the CAB/Anti-CAA agitation, and demanded that the senior police review the previous incidents and consider his own conduct. Additionally, ULFA-I encouraged the senior officer to quit crying "crocodile tears" and instead seek to bring justice to the late SI Junmoni Rabha's grieving mother, who has lost both of her children and is still waiting for justice.
