Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma alongside the Chief Secretary has urged the ECI to schedule the Lok Sabha polls before Rongali Bihu which is on April 14, 2024. This strategic move seeks to align the polling schedule with local traditions, allowing citizens to participate fully in and enjoy the festivities without disruptions caused by election activities.
