Digital Desk: Five individuals were detained in Assam's Hailakandi district on Monday for conducting deadly bike stunts on the national highway, according to police.

As stated by a senior police official, five young people were performing bike stunts on the national route that connects Hailakandi to another nearby district, Karimganj.

Police detained all of them, identified as Amin Laskar, Abdur Rahman Laskar, Fakrul Islam Laskar, Abdul Aziz, and Iqbal Hussain Majumdar.

The bike exploits of the group got the attention of the authorities after one of them shared a video on social media.

Earlier, Special DGP of Assam G.P. Singh had warned the bikers who try to execute risky feats on the highway.

On Twitter, Singh stated: "People in Assam are asked to report any locations or individuals who engage in stunt motorcycling on a regular basis via Direct Message. Such social media displays may also be brought to the attention of Assam Police."

On Monday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma urged all district administration officials to implement proper safety measures in order to reduce road accidents in the state.
