Digital Desk: According to an official report, the flood situation in Assam has remained poor for the past 24 hours with an estimated 45,354 people still affected in seven districts of the state.
Beki (Road Bridge), Disang (Nanglamuraghat), Dikhou (Sivasagar), and Brahmaputra (Dhubri, Tezpur, Neamatighat) are the three rivers that are currently flowing above the danger level.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) reports that Dhemaji is still the district with the highest number of flood victims (19,601), followed by Lakhimpur (8,338), Dibrugarh (7,338), Sonitpur (5,626), Dhubri (1,946), Chirang (1,545), and Jorhat (960).

It should be noted that Assam is now experiencing high to very heavy rains, which has led to flooding in some areas of the state.
The Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati has in the meantime issued a yellow alert from August 29 to 31 and an orange alert for the state for the coming days.
