Around 24,604 people are reportedly trapped by floodwaters in the districts of Biswanath, Dhemaji, and Lakhimpur, according to an official bulletin from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
With 18,420 persons affected, Dhemaji is still the hardest-hit district. Lakhimpur reported 4,810 affected families, and Biswanath reported 1,374 affected households.
The catastrophe has also affected 12,130 animals.
According to the bulletin, 1245.18 hectares of crops have been devastated throughout Assam, and 91 villages across six revenue circles are waterlogged.
Five instances of road damage have been reported in Biswanath, Dhemaji, and Lakhimpur districts, and an embankment in Biswanath district has been breached.
The advice also noted that erosions had been seen in the districts of Tinsukia, Biswanath, Darrang, Dibrugarh, and Sonitpur throughout the previous day.
