Guwahati: Water pipeline burst leads to heavy spillage in Maligaon, traffic snarl
The issue was discovered as the state government's responsible authority was working on the flyover's ongoing construction.

Digital Desk: On Monday morning, a major water pipeline burst under the Maligaon flyover, which is still under construction, in the city of Guwahati.

The issue was discovered as the state government's responsible authority was working on the flyover's ongoing construction. However, it wasn't known what caused the pipeline to burst until this report was filed.

Following a Gammon JICA water supply mainline pipe rupture in the Kharguli neighbourhood of Guwahati last Thursday, which swept away multiple vehicles and destroyed the neighbouring homes, several families have recently been left without a home.
Following the tragedy of the ruptured water supply pipeline, which also took the life of a woman and injured other people nearby, the situation in Kharguli is still dangerous.

The Joypur Primary School offered shelter to the families who were left stranded after the water pipeline ruptured in Kharguli's Joypur yesterday.

Following the rupture of the water supply pipeline in Kharguli, a woman named Sumitra Rabha was killed.

Additionally, the catastrophe that washed away multiple two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles also resulted in the injury of 19 residents. Those that were hurt are currently being treated.

The force of the water was so great that it also caused damage to several nearby homes, knocking down walls and foundations, which quickly forced several residents from their homes and left them without refuge.
