    Heroin worth over 3 crore seized in Assam's Bokajan; One held

    Digital Desk: A drug trafficker was apprehended on Monday at Bokajan in Assam's Karbi Anglong district with more than 583 grams of heroin in a campaign against anti-drug activities.

    Sources claim that a squad from the Karagaon police station discovered 47 soap boxes with 583.08 grams of heroin this morning.

    The smuggler who was captured was identified as Shamsul Haque of Guaspur in the Karimganj district.

    The legal authorities have opened an investigation, and Shamsul Haque is currently undergoing extensive questioning.

    According to additional reports, the heroin that was seized is worth more than Rs 3 crore on the open market.

    The Assam Police detained a suspected drug smuggler earlier on September 23 and confiscated a sizeable quantity of illegal substances from his hands in the Cachar district.

    As per the reports, the market value of the seized contraband drugs was around Rs 2 crore. The arrested smuggler has been identified as Azad Uddin Barlaskar (31).
