    Himanta Biswa Sarma assesses progress of proposed additional Assam Bhawans in New Delhi and Kolkata

    Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday enquiry about the construction of the proposed additional Assam Bhawans in New Delhi and Kolkata.






    In the meeting chaired by CM Sarma with the General Administration Department, PWD, and the heads of other departments in Janata Bhawan, apart from reviewing the construction work of the Assam Bhawans, he also discussed for setting up of new Assam houses in Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Puducherry, and Hyderabad.






    During the meeting, CM Sarma directed the PWD to start the work of proposed Assam Bhawans at New Delhi and Kolkata’s Russel street.






    CM Sarma pointed out that the Assam Bhawan in Dwarka, New Delhi, should be dedicated to the patients and students.






    Moreover, the meeting also discussed the construction of a new Raj Bhawan. CM Sarma asked the concerned authority to start the process expeditiously.






    Additionally, the CM also stresses building an integrated directorate complex to accommodate directorate offices of all departments.






    In the meeting along with CM Sarma Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Samir Kumar Sinha, Commissioner, Guwahati City Police Harmeet Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (M), Bishwajit Pegu, and other senior officers of various departments were present.
