    Homeless Rehabilitation Drive to Continue in Guwahati for 10 Days

    Digital Desk: The Kamrup Metro district administration will conduct a rescue and rehabilitation operation across Guwahati during the next ten days.


    In this regard, Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha presided over a meeting with the DCP, ADC, Childline, and other officials and encouraged all stakeholders to continue participating in the rehabilitation drive.


    The committee decided to form a task force to perform regular operations to rescue those living on the road and transport them to night shelters within the following ten days.


    District nodal officials will be overseen by ADC Jharna Patgiri, Lakhyajit Duwaria, and Assistant Commissioner Anurag Rudra. The drive will be launched by the District Child Protection Officer, the Collector of Gauhati Municipal Corporation (GMC), and representatives from non-governmental organisations (NGOs). 


     It was additionally decided to form a committee to supervise the task force's operations, offer guidance, and find a long-term solution for the homeless people living on the streets.


    Furthermore, senior officials from the Kamrup Metro district administration, led by DC Pallav Gopal Jha, carried out a late-night drive in the Panbazar and Ulubari neighbourhoods of Guwahati to rehabilitate the homeless into shelter homes. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, had ordered officials to give people observed residing with their families beneath the flyover housing and employment options.
