Guwahati: A day after former Congress MLA Sherman Ali got bail by Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court, he stated that he is a victim of political conspiracy.
“I am a victim of political conspiracy as I didn’t follow the Rajdharma of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.” he said.
Commenting about the congress party, he said, “I am shocked that Congress high command called me the agent of BJP; I was disheartened to hear it. No party can buy me with money.”
While I was in jail, I didn’t receive any help from Congress, he added.

Further, the former MLA urged the BJP not to play religious politics with the state’s people.
He also asserted that the development of jail is neglected till today, even it is not discussed in the Vidhan Sabha.
“In the coming five years, I will work for the development of the jail as I have experienced the environment of it.” he said.
Sherman Ali steps under the open sky after two months. He was arrested by The Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell on October 6 over his alleged complicity in the misappropriation of funds that was sanctioned for the construction of roads in Mandi block under his constituency.
A total of Rs.35 lacs was released for road construction under 14 MLA local area development schemes in 2017-18. Sherman Ali allegedly drained off Rs. 25,08, 323 without completing the designated work of the money released.
