Digital Desk: MLA Siddharth Bhattacharya stated in a letter to the president of the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Assam Pradesh that his name has been drawn into different debates connected to the suicide of a party worker and that this has been done to smear the name of the party workers. He also urged a probe and appropriate punishment for all those responsible.
In his letter, he expressed concern that certain members of the party had accepted bribes in exchange for government employment and that those persons had wanted their money back when they were unable to deliver. People wanted the money back and posted a private photograph of a female party member on social media, prompting her death. Additionally, the tape of the deceased's phone call indicated the involvement of another woman named Richa and a male named Dwiben Deka, and his name was dragged into the debate without any justification.
In addition to listing his prior positions with the party, the MLA stated that he was not given any portfolio in the current government, calling it a conspiracy against some of the BJP party's old members who have been with the organisation even during its darkest days by some new members who have no respect for the party's ideologies.
He further stated that the claims against him are absolutely baseless and that they are part of a plot against him and an attempt to tarnish the reputation of some of the former members.
