Digital Desk: A viral video that surfaced on social media depicted a heart-breaking marriage of a youth. The young man was seen to have married his longtime girlfriend, who passed away on Friday from illness at a private hospital in Guwahati, Assam. He even promised not to get married again in front of the dead body.
The young man in the videen identified as Bitupan Tamuli, is seen applying vermillion on the girl's cheeks and forehead in the same wat a man would to his newlywed bride. The girl was lying on the floor when the 27-year-old youth put a white garland around her neck. The youth then took another garland - touched her several parts and then wore it - the ritual to complete tmarriage process.
The family said that Bitupan, a resident of Morigaon, and Prathana Bora, a resident of Kosua village, Chaparmukh, were longtime lovers. The relationship and the couple's plans for a wedding were known to both families.
"Parthana had suddenly fallen ill a few days earlier and was taken to a private hospital in Guwahati. Despite our best efforts, we were unable to save her. She passed away on Friday night "Subhon Bora, one of her relatives said. A heartbroken Biputan carried the wedding materials to the funeral.
"When Biputan arrived, he stated that he was going to marry her. We were speechless since this was beyond our imagination. We couldn't even dream that someone can love my sister so deeply. We couldn't even consider trying to stop him " Subhon, Prathana's cousin brother stated.
"We saw him crying and engaging in all the ceremonies throughout. My sister was really fortunate. She wished to marry Biputan, and the guy fulfilled her final wish. What else is there to say?" Subhon asked, adding that the gesture of love had touched the entire family.
