On Wednesday night, a bomb blast left at least three people injured. According to reports, the explosion occurred in the Kwakta neighbourhood of Bishnupur, which has been heavily impacted by the state's continuous ethnic strife for almost two months.

The bomb detonated off with considerable amounts of force which was hidden in an SUV that was parked next to a culvert. A critical condition has been reported for one of the injured people. Union Home Minister Amit Shah called an all-party meeting on June 24 to discuss the situation in the State, over 50 days after ethnic violence broke out in Manipur.

"Union Home Minister Amit Shah has convened an all-party meeting on 24th June at 3 PM in New Delhi to discuss the situation in Manipur," a home ministry spokesperson tweeted.

Regarding Manipur, Sonia Gandhi, the head of the Congress, issued an appeal for peace in violence-hit Manipur, saying the country's conscience had been deeply wounded by the state's unprecedented violence, which had wreaked havoc on the lives of its residents.

She expressed grief that people were forced to depart their place of residence and leave behind everything they had accumulated throughout their lifetimes in a video statement posted by the Congress on social media. In her statement, she expressed her sadness at seeing her peacefully coexisting brothers and sisters turn against one another.

Gandhi claimed that Manipur's past is evidence of the state's capacity to accept people from all origins, religions, and ethnic groups, as well as the many possibilities presented by a diverse community.
