Guwahati: The smallest coffins are the heaviest. In a tragic incident, the loss of the 8-year-old Abeer, son of Colonel Viplav Tripathi, brought stillness and sorrow among all.
Two days ago, Commanding Officer of 46 Assam Rifles, Colonel Viplav Tripathi his wife and 8-year-old son, and four soldiers lost their lives in a terrorist attack on a convoy of Assam Rifles Churachandpur, Manipur.
Deeming dreams and childhood, a minor killed in the attack hits differently. Eight-year-old Abeer was full of life and ambitions. But, unfortunately, the nation lost a prospective soldier too soon.
Netizens dropped sad comments on a video shared by Viplav earlier. The video highlighted Viplav and his son spending a good time together.
The video highlighted Abeer performing all tasks usually provided to the soldiers when they are into training. His father, Tripathi, was heard in the clip's background instructing his son to follow the little steps.

The video of 8-year-old Abeer states how tragic a loss can turn out to be. As per sources, Viplav Tripathi was brilliant in his studies as well extracurricular actives. Similarly, Abeer, at this age, showcased his passion and determination for serving the nation.
However, the sudden decease of 8-year-old Abeer in the tragic ambush attack left the nation in shock. Abeer was steeping into the track to maintain the family regime of serving the nation and protecting the country.
Col Viplav Tripathi's grandfather was freedom fighter Kisorimohan Tripathi, a member of the Indian Constitution Draft Committee, the first MP from Raigarh-Surguja in 1951. Viplav's father Subhas Tripathi is the owner and editor of a Hindi daily in Raigarh, Chattisgarh.
A close relative of the family stated that the distraught father is cut up by the thought of Abeer's death and says it wrenches his heart out.
"They had returned earlier this week after spending a delightful Diwali with Viplav. The two brothers have always been passionate about the military, great guys to be with," a close relative stated.
Lt Col Anay, brother of Vilap, headed for Mhow Army War College when news of his brother's death arrived. He has set off for Manipur to bring back the mortal remains of Viplav, Anuja and Abir. The cremation ceremony will take place on Monday.
