Digital Desk: Two civilians were injured as mobs clashed with security personnel overnight in Imphal town and attempted to torch the residences of BJP leaders, officials said on Saturday.
In separate incidents, automatic gunfire was reported from Kwakta in Manipur's Bishnupur district and Kangvai in Churachandpur district, during the night.
An attempt was also made to rob the Iringbam police station in Imphal West. However, no weapons were stolen.

To prevent protesters from congregating, the Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Rapid Action Force marched together across the state capital till midnight.
Reportedly, a mob of about 1,000 people gathered to try to burn down structures near the palace compound. To disperse the crowd, the RAF used tear gas and rubber bullets.
Another mob attempted to set fire to the residence of MLA Biswajeet. However, the RAF column dispersed the mob.
Another mob stormed the BJP office in Sinjemai after midnight, but it was dispersed by an Army column.
Similarly, crowds attempted to vandalize the residence of Sharda Devi, the BJP (women's) president, near Porampet in Imphal. However, the security personnel were successful in dispersing the youths.
