The prohibitory order further said that magistrates, security personnel, and city officials who are deployed on duty are immune from its scope.

Digital Desk: A night curfew has been implemented by the Sivasagar district of Assam in a 5-kilometre stretch that borders Nagaland.

As a preventative step, a curfew has been declared to stop illegal acts, anti-social behaviour, and the movement of extremists on Monday.

A 512-kilometer border connects Assam with Nagaland.

The Nagaland government said that the nighttime curfew, which is in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., will last till December 9.

The Nagaland government statement cited a notification from the Sivasagar district administration that stated that the movement of any individual, group of individuals or vehicular traffic is restricted during the nighttime curfew.

The prohibitory order further said that magistrates, security personnel, and city officials who are deployed on duty are immune from its scope.
