Not Given Much Time to Speak at All-Party Meeting: Manipur Congress Leader
There were more than 20 different political groups present at the meeting, according to Okram Ibobi Singh, who said that Amit Shah did not give him time to speak.

Digital Desk: Okram Ibobi Singh, a top leader of the Congress and the former chief minister of Manipur stated that he addressed Union Home Minister Amit Shah several questions at the all-party meeting on Saturday but was not given enough time to put forward his suggestions to him.

There were more than 20 different political groups present at the meeting, according to Okram Ibobi Singh, who said that Amit Shah did not give him time to speak.

The senior Congress politician while speaking at the National Convention on Peace on Sunday in Manipur stated, "It has been more than 50 days since violence broke out in Manipur. PM Modi has not spoken a word or posted even a single tweet regarding our state up until this point. It appears that Manipur has offended the prime minister. Despite the modest size of our state, we believe we are guarding the border with Myanmar. Why didn't PM Modi say anything at all if he believes Manipur is a part of this nation?"

"During the all-party meeting yesterday, I asked several embarrassing questions to Amit Shah ji. He began by stating that there was not much time left and that more than 20 other political groups were waiting in queue. I asked some time my concluding remarks, but he said ‘sorry we don’t have time’ and refused,” Singh added.

It should be noted that the National Convention on Peace in Manipur is now taking place in the region and is being attended by as many as 10 like-minded opposition parties.

According to sources, political leaders observed a minute of silence during the National Convention on Peace to mourn the deaths of the people in Manipur. Among the other politicians present were CPI leader D Raja, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, and CPI leader Sitaram Yechury.
