    Digital Desk: The fatal tragedy of Odisha's Balasore incident, nearly killing about 300 and injuring more than 900 people in a triple train collision has left people in a state of shock. Out of many injured a youth from Assam managed to survive despite being seriously injured.

    Rupak Das identified as the injured youth was receiving treatment at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), he was released on Wednesday.

    Additionally, Rupak was transferred to the GMCH on Monday for advanced medical care after being injured in an Odisha train tragedy that claimed 278 lives and injured almost 1,100 others.     

    Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta also paid a visit to the GMCH today to assess the youth's health and wish him a speedy recovery.

    Rupak is resident of Biswanath Chariali. He was taken to Guwahati under the supervision of Dr. Syed Tanwir Alam, Joint Director of Medical Education, and Additional Director of Medical Education Ranveer Bora.

    Before being transferred to Guwahati, Rupak was allegedly receiving treatment at a local hospital in Balasore for injuries received in the triple train tragedy.



    Notably, on Tuesday, a CBI team visited the site of the horrific railway accident in Odisha's Balasore district and filed a case in connection with the incident.

    The CBI stated in an official statement, "On the request of the Ministry of Railways, consent of the Odisha Government, and further orders from DoPT(Govt. of India) relating to the train accident involving Coromandel Express, Yashwantpur-Howrah Express, and a Goods train at Bahanaga Bazar in the State of Odisha on June 2, 2023, CBI has taken over the investigation of the case previously registered at Balasore." 

    Earlier on June 4, Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta visited Rupak Das' family and told them that all required support will be provided to him (Rupak Das).
