    Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a heartfelt tribute to Assam's tea garden community on Saturday, acknowledging the cultural richness and economic significance they bring to the state. Emphasizing the global reach of Assam Tea, Modi highlighted its presence across the world, underscoring the pivotal role the region plays in the international tea trade.

    Commending the relentless efforts of the tea garden community, the Prime Minister expressed admiration for their dedication and hard work, recognizing their contribution to elevating Assam's prestige and shaping the global tea market. "I would like to laud the remarkable tea garden community, which is working hard and enhancing Assam’s prestige all over the world," Modi remarked, celebrating the community's pivotal role in the state's global recognition.

    In a bid to promote tourism and showcase the picturesque landscapes of the tea gardens, Prime Minister Modi extended an invitation to tourists, urging them to explore the beauty of these estates during their visits to the state.

    Earlier in the day, Modi initiated transformative projects valued at a staggering Rs 18,000 crore from Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat, reaffirming the government's commitment to fostering growth and prosperity in the region. The projects included the inauguration of the Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital, a Child Care Unit at B. Baruah Cancer Institute in Guwahati, the Barauni to Guwahati natural gas pipeline, and two crude oil pumping stations of Oil India Limited.

    Additionally, the Prime Minister virtually laid the foundation stone for the Sivasagar Medical College and Hospital, the Guwahati and Digboi Refinery expansion projects, and IOCL’s Bethkuchi Terminal in Guwahati. These initiatives signify monumental advancements in healthcare infrastructure and energy sustainability across the state.

    In a poignant tribute to Assam's illustrious history, Modi dedicated the 'Statue of Valour' in memory of the legendary Ahom General Lachit Borphukan at Lachit Maidam in the Hoollongapar area of Jorhat district.

    Unveiling the statue, he paid homage to the indomitable spirit of Bir Lachit Borphukan, whose heroic deeds continue to inspire generations, reinforcing the connection between Assam's rich history and its promising future under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
