    Papon says it all when he sings these lines. Assam's beloved singer Angaraag Papon Mahanta ( popularly known as Papon) turns a year older today.





    The singer is also famous in Bollywood for his melodious voice and the gift of singing that can touch souls. He has given several hits in the Hindi movie industry.





    Being a birthday person, Papon said, "Birthdays are special with my special people around. Sometimes we party, go to special places like a forest, deep into the woods, or have a quiet affair with my family. It is difficult to recall any one particular birthday memory."





    He added, "A few years back, we happened to be somewhere a little out of Jodhpur for a show. It was a night festival. The night was also out in the desert with camels, it. It was an extraordinary birthday. We had the best audience; my band and family had also traveled with me."





    Papon is the leading vocalist and head of the band 'The East India Company.' In the world of rap and jazz, Angaraag Mahanta, popularly stage-named as 'Papon,' keeps melody alive within the souls of individuals with his compositions and music. 





    So, Papon is acknowledged as a winning musician from Assam and is well-famed all around the globe. 





    Papon's father and Bihu king Khagen Mahanta, at the age of fifteen, started performing in concerts in Shillong, where he was well received. He and his wife Archana Mahanta plays a vital role in Assamese folk music.

    The talented singer shared his way of living. He believes in living a simple and healthy lifestyle. Shweta Mishra Mahanta, the wife of Papon, said that he loves spending time with his family whenever he returns home after long musical trips.





    Like every year, birthday wishes for Papon crowded social media platforms. As a response to the love and wishes of his fans, Papon tweeted, "Woke up to so many birthday wishes that I couldn't possibly reply to all. Thank you all for all the love and blessings you have sent to me. Grateful and happy." 





    Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also shared a post wishing the singer. The post read, "Warm greetings on your birthday, Papon. May Maa Kamakhya and Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva bless you with good health, and may your soul-touching numbers continue to win hearts across India and beyond."





    Lately, Papon has been travelling around the world, and he is conducting interviews with various artists. He stated he is further receiving the depth of folk music from each of them. So far, he has been engaged with more than 50 individuals linked with traditional music. 





    The melodious singer also wants to highlight the art of ordinary people. He wants to show the beauty of music and art that lives in the lands of Northeastern states.
