Police gives befitting reply to Bodo militants serial blast threat; kills 2 ULB cadres in encounter

Kokrajhar: Two cadres of newly floated militant outfit, United Liberation of Bodoland have been gunned down during an exchange of fire with Kokrajhar police. The two deceased have been identified as Jwngsar Mushahary and Janak Kumar Brahma.

The police recovered two pistols and eight grenades from the site of the encounter.

The encounter took place early this morning at Kokrajhar's Ultapani Jungle, where the two had come to demand money at Bishmuri in Kokrajhar.

Acting on a tip-off, the Kokrajhar police reached the site and a firing ensued between the two parties.

It may be mentioned here that the outfit which is seeking creation of a separate Bodo land had published a video as well as an official release, warning the law enforcing agencies that if a single ULB cadre is insulted or killed in an encounter, the outfit will retaliate by killing 20. The outfit also sought the release of cadres, especially Ranjan Daimary (NDFB leader) from jail. If not released in time, they would resort to bomb blasts in October. The outfit also said that they are ready to lay down their lives for the cause of their community and would not rest till they get a separate Bodoland.
