    announced on Sunday that over Rs 8,000 crores in development projects will be
    dedicated to the people of Assam with Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelling
    down to the state on the occasion of Bohag Bihu on April 14.



    color:black">Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma briefed the media today on numerous
    critical matters, including the unveiling of the projects, ahead of the PM's
    arrival.



    color:black">Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the following development
    projects during his visit:



    color:black">• The inauguration of AIIMS Guwahati at Changsari, which cost Rs
    1,123 crores to build. This cutting-edge hospital will have 750 beds and 100
    MBBS seats.



    ·  color:black">Dedicate to the nation, new medical institutions with 1,500 beds
    at Nalbari, Nagaon, and Kokrajhar built at a cost of Rs 1,600 crores.



    ·  color:black">Lay the foundation stone for the Assam Advanced Healthcare
    Innovation Institute at IIT Guwahati, a joint collaboration between the
    Government of Assam and IIT Guwahati with an initial funding of around Rs 600
    crores from the Government of Assam.



    ·  color:black">Inauguration of Assam Petro-Chemicals Limited's 500 TPD Methanol
    facility at Namrup, which was developed jointly by the Government of Assam and
    OIL India Limited at a cost of Rs 1,709 crores.



    ·  color:black">Begin a Rs 100 crore beautification project for Rang Ghar, one of
    Assam's most prominent monuments.



    • At a cost
    of Rs 3,197 crores, lay the foundation for a bridge over the Brahmaputra
    connecting Palashbari and Sualkuchi.



    • With
    11,010 drummers and Bihu dancers, the Hon'ble PM will grace the Bihu
    celebration at Sarusajai Stadium. He will also attend the closing ceremony of
    the Gauhati High Court's Platinum Jubilee celebration.
