Digital Desk: The District Magistrate of Kokrajhar took a decisive step, invoking Section 144/144-A of the CrPC, to ensure peace and order during the impending General Election on Tuesday.

This prohibition encompasses a wide range of activities, including public gatherings, processions, demonstrations, and even the carrying of weapons. The order aims to maintain tranquility and prevent any potential disturbances that could disrupt the electoral process.

Notably, torchlight processions have been specifically banned, emphasizing the seriousness with which authorities are approaching the maintenance of law and order.

However, amidst these stringent measures, a mega bike rally, spearheaded by Minister U G Brahma, unfolded in the Kokrajhar Assembly constituency, drawing participation from numerous political leaders, notably from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

The absence of BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary from this event did not go unnoticed, sparking criticism and indicating shifts within the region's political dynamics.

As the political landscape evolves, Mohilary's absence underscores the changing tides of influence in Kokrajhar.
