    Security beefed up in Guwahati ahead of PM Modi's visit

    In the meanwhile, a set of restrictions has been issued by the Guwahati Traffic Police in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the city.

    Digital Desk: Guwahati is getting ready for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state on February 3 and 4. 

    The state has increased its security measures. 

    On February 4, at Veterinary College Field, Khanapara in Guwahati, Prime Minister Modi will give a speech at a sizable public gathering, lay the groundwork, and officially launch many projects valued at crores.

    In the meanwhile, a set of restrictions has been issued by the Guwahati Traffic Police in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the city. He is expected to visit Assam for two days starting on February 3 and will inaugurate a number of development projects in addition to giving a speech at a public rally on Sunday at the Khanapara Veterinary College grounds.

    Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to microblogging site X on February 2 expressing anticipation for the imminent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state. The PM's unwavering support, as well as the remarkable progress driven by Modi's laser-like direction, were both praised by the chief minister.

    In her cordial greeting, Chief Minister Sarma mentioned Prime Minister Modi's deep love for Assam. A new era of progress about to dawn on the state was alluded to by him as he expressed his anticipation for the Prime Minister's visit, scheduled for February 3.
     
    Key Projects to be Launched:

     1. Maa Kamakhya Divyalok Pariyojana: An ambitious project with a 498 crore rupee estimate.

    2. Road widening that connects the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport: This crucial infrastructure improvement will cost Rs 358 crore.

    3. The Asom Mala 2.0 project would upgrade 43 roads, including the building of 38 bridges, at a cost of Rs 3,444 crore.

    4. A significant sports infrastructure project that will cost Rs 831 crore is the renovation of Nehru Stadium into a FIFA Standard Football Stadium.
    5. Chandrapur Stadium: An investment of Rs 300 crore intended to improve sports infrastructure.

    6. Guwahati Medical College and Hospital Infrastructure Development: An investment of Rs 3,250 crore to improve medical facilities.

    7. Karimganj Medical College: A medical infrastructure project with a Rs 578 crore budget.

    8. Unity Mall Development: The establishment of retail and leisure areas will require an investment of Rs 297 crore.
