Digital Desk: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced on Monday that the state government will soon build prefabricated houses to temporarily accommodate all affected persons.

Earlier today, the chief minister visited some of the state's relief camps.

The Manipur CM told the media, "I visited some relief camps today and saw that people are suffering. To accommodate them temporarily, the state government plans to build prefabricated houses. We intend to build about 4000 houses. We're looking for a location where we can build."

The Manipur CM also added that his telephonic conversation with Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga was quite positive.

"Zoramthanga is experience and is the most senior minister in the entire Northeast. I told him that because of the present conflict in Manipur, some of the Manipuri residents there are somewhat uncomfortable. He then called me and gave me his word that nothing would happen," the Manipur CM said.

On the night of June 18-19, one Indian Army soldier had been injured as armed miscreants opened fire on Chingmang village from Kanto Sabal. Army Columns used controlled retaliation fire, keeping in mind the presence of residents in the area.

The Army soldier who had been injured was rushed to Military Hospital Leimakhong, where he is currently said to be stable. Additional columns have been deployed in the area, and combined operations have begun, according to the Indian Army.

Biren Singh stated that a review meeting would be held.

"I am going to conduct a review meeting where the incidents that led to the violence and the steps that need to be taken to prevent it will be discussed," Biren Singh said.
