Tezpur Suicide Case: FIR lodged against Dr Jahanara Begum, Dr GM Das
Digital Desk: Even after going through a severe illness, people tend to see a doctor for the urge of survival. Who wants to kill himself on his own?

A tragic incident of a suicide case in Tezpur has created sensations among the region's people. What gets into the people's nerves is to find out what was written on the suicide note.

On Thursday, Pradeep Bhuyan, manager of Ananta Medical College, committed suicide and left a suicide note for family and friends. On the suicide note, the deceased manager wrote, "I am committing suicide. Dr GM Das and Dr Jahanara Begum are accountable for my death. I have to die because I could not return the debt of Rs. 44,000."

The deceased person stated that the hospital owners used to harass him for not returning the debt amount. Bhuyan was harassed physically and mentally by the owners of Ananta Memorial Hospital, Jahanara Begum and Dr GM Das.

On this ground, Tezpur police have registered an FIR under the IPC section 187/21 U/S 306/34. However, sources have stated that Jahanara Begum and her husband, Dr GM Das, recovered from Covid-19 three days before this tragic incident. Therefore, on the grounds of not being well, police have not arrested the alleged killer for Pradeep Bhuyan's suicide.

Now the point that arises is whether this Covid-19 ground stated by Jahanara Begum and GM Das is a trick to escape this attempt to murder case. How strong and effective is our police authorities will only be answered through their proper probe into this matter.

Dr Jahanara Begum is the Deputy Superintendent, Tezpur Medical College And Hospital. After being a government service doctor, how can she operate her own clinic? Everyone knows the fact, but no one has the guts to question the matter.

Besides, Jahanara Begum is a well-known Assamese actress who has acted in significant Assamese movies like Kaneen Cactus. She is also known for presenting herself as a lady who talks about justice and morality.

Presenting such an image in public, delivering characters to inspire others, and then turning out to be an accused of the suicide of her clinic's manager appears grey. The deceased manager Pradeep Bhuyan stated that he was supposed to return a debt amount of 44,000. Why would someone take such an extreme step for such an amount of debt?

The true-to-life picture behind this incident seems to be powerful. Therefore, this story and its updates will clear out the real face of the alleged killers Jahanara Begum and GM Das and the real face of authorities. This big mystery could only be solved with the proper probe by the police authorities and district administration.

The deceased manager Pradeep Bhuyan stated on his last note that the owners of the clinic mentally and physically harassed him. One can understand the depth of harassment faced by Bhuyan that he had to leave this world, leaving his wife and child alone. The despair and loss of Bhuyan's family and friends left everyone in a pathetic state.

What matters for them is justice for the departed soul. If the authorities shut their mouths and media coverage avoid the news, justice will not prevail. Evil will win over truth, and the democracy of the nation will be questioned.

When Assam is tracking out every illegal activity happening around the state, it will be shameful for the authorities to fail on the face under the oppression of power and money.
