Digital desk: The Kamrup District Commissioner Keerthi Jalli revealed "Luit" and "Kamrupa" a pair of black soft-shell turtles selected to represent Kamrup Election District in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
The unveiling of mascots and the introduction of brand ambassadors marked a significant event coinciding with the celebration of Kamrup District Day at the Integrated District Commissioner's Office on March 31.
With the help of the Systematic Voter's Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, these Kamrup's mascots were created to increase voter awareness and participation. The black soft-shell turtle, found in the Hayagriva Madhab Temple premises in Hajo, is a symbol of the district of Kamrup's pride.
The district's rich tradition and environmental value are represented by the names "Luit" and "Kamrupa," which stand for male and female representatives, respectively. Cartoonist Pradip Nath created the mascots.
The other inauguration ceremony of the new election mascot of the Dhubri Election district was also organized by the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation program (SVEEP) cell during an awareness meeting in the deputy commissioner conference hall of the district, which was held in connection with the upcoming Parliamentary election of 2024.
The artist Sanjib Basak created the election mascot, "Pradipta," which combines elements of the shola pith art form and traditional earthenware sculpture. The purpose of this creative design is to increase public awareness of the value of voting. The catchphrase "Let's all vote together" captures the essence of group involvement in the election process and highlights the importance of every citizen's vote.
Through its unique design and compelling message, "Pradipta" inspires individuals to exercise their democratic right to vote and acts as a symbol of civic involvement.
