    Digital Desk: On Sunday, three youngsters in Assam's Tinsukia district were allegedly shot and seriously injured by police. According to prior reports, the authorities suspected the teens of attempting to join the proscribed militant group United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I).


    The alleged shooting is thought to have occurred in Dirak, near Kakopathar. 


    Notably, Biswanath Buragohain of Sadiya, Manoj Buragohain of Nizarapara, and Nabin Neog of Milan Nagar have been identified as the injured.


    The three were shot in the legs and were originally treated at Tinsukia Civil Hospital before being moved to Assam Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.


    As per Prag News reports, The encounter has shaken everyone and it's been also said that the Sadiya police made desperate attempts to cover up the encounter.


    The incident comes amid a spat between ULFA-I and Assam DGP GP Singh, with the former denying any connection with persons arrested across the state on suspicion of being related to the outfit.


    Singh has reaffirmed the Assam police's commitment to the safety of the state's citizens and their wish to prevent conflict.
