Assam: Time to get used to Face Masks as Dust storm covered Guwahati Today
Based on the daily Air Quality Index, Guwahati's air quality has been in the Very Poor category for the past month...

Digital Desk: Guwahati's air quality has significantly worsened during the last month for various reasons. Guwahati appears to be coated in the dust today, as a severe storm looms over the city. Clouds of dust and the following pollution have often caused city people to face a wide range of issues in terms of living their communal lives. Many regions are coated in white dust as the wind blows it throughout the rest of the city.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board's daily Air Quality Index (AQI) report, Guwahati's air quality has been in the Very Poor category for the past month.

The dust appears to be causing breathing troubles in persons driving for a long time. Guwahati locals were observed covering their faces with face masks to protect themselves from the intensity of the dust particles that appeared to be in the air.

The entire city of Guwahati appears to be under construction. The residual of the Brahmaputra Riverfront Development project in the development of sewers, buildings, and flyovers has been one of the key factors in the air quality dropping to such a level.

Dust and debris from construction sites add to air pollution, resulting in deteriorating air quality levels throughout the city. It has also been observed that building sites throughout the city are not using the protection net or cover that would otherwise be used to block the dust and debris flowing from the construction site.

Speaking about the dust storm, it is believed that due to seasonal change, the dust storm occurs, or we can say that it's the Phalgun month that is mid of March welcoming spring with dust storms.
