Digital Desk: Weeks after both chief ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the settlement of boundary disputes in six areas of Assam and Meghalaya, some residents of inter-state boundary areas are frightened of being separated from Meghalaya.
Reportedly, seven inter-state boundary village chiefs with Assam were displeased today when they were unable to meet the chief minister Conrad Sangma to express their objections.

Following which, the disheartened headmen have declared that they would not abandon Meghalaya, no matter what, even if it meant going to the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, members of the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) who accompanied the protesting villagers have called the government's decision to send a few villages to Assam as "foul play."
