    A massive eviction operation was undertaken out at a Madrassa in Bongaigaon

    This is the third Madrasa to be razed by the Assam government in response to the arrests of 37 people, including an Imam and Madrasa professors, associated to AQIS/ABT.

    Digital Desk: The
    district administration conducted an eviction drive at Markazul Ma-Arif
    Quariayana Madrassa in Assam's Bongaigaon district on Wednesday.



    During the drive, the
    administration was helped by the locals.



    This is the third
    Madrasa to be razed by the Assam government in response to the arrests of 37
    people, including an Imam and Madrasa professors, associated to AQIS/ABT.



    Following the arrest of
    Mufti Hafizur Rahman, a teacher at the Madrassa, the Bongaigaon was evicted.



    Rahman was apprehended
    in the Jogighopa region by Goalpara police.



    According to
    authorities, Rahman worked as a teacher at the Madrassa while carrying out
    terrorist operations from its grounds.



    The Bongaigaon
    government issued the eviction order after the Goalpara police detained the
    Mufti.



    According to reports,
    police and paramilitary personnel arrived at the Madrassa on Tuesday night and
    deserted the Madrassa dormitories.



    Meanwhile, eight
    excavators have arrived at the eviction site, according to reports.
