Kokrajhar : Family members of slain ABMSU leader Lafiqul Islam still waiting for justice as CBI delays investigation in the murder case of Lafiqul Islam.
ABMSU leader Lafiqul
The family members of Lafiqul Islam Ahmed, former All Bodoland Territorial Council Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU) president, said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is delaying the investigation as they continue to wait for justice.
Lafiqul was killed on August 1, 2017 by unidentified miscreants in Titaguri market, Kokrajhar. The Centre has handed over the investigation of the murder case to the CBI last year.
“He is yet to get justice as the CBI is delaying the matter,” said deceased’s brother Mridul Islam.

He added, “A Special Investigation team (SIT) was constituted to inquire the matter and later, it was handed over to the CBI. Even after a year, the prime accused is still on the run. We feel that the CBI is somehow delaying the case as there were several cases after that which has been solved and closed.”
Islam urged the CBI to expedite the investigation process.
