“Akhil Gogoi has embraced Islam! ….I will teach him how to recite Kalma..," says Badaruddin Ajmal

Ajmal claimed that Akhil Gogoi had converted to Islam, stating that he would personally teach Gogoi the Kalima

Digital Desk: In a high-spirited election rally held at Baladmara in Gauripur, Assam, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, the leader of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), made explosive remarks targeting several prominent political figures.

About Akhil Gogoi, he made a controversial statement: "Akhil Gogoi has embraced Islam! All that remains is for him to recite the Kalmas; I will personally teach him how to recite them."

During the rally, Ajmal took aim at Akhil Gogoi, Gaurav Gogoi, and Rakibul Hussain, accusing them of indulging in alcoholism and gambling. He urged the public not to vote for these individuals, branding them as unfit for public office.

In a startling allegation, Ajmal claimed that Akhil Gogoi had converted to Islam, stating that he would personally teach Gogoi the Kalima, the Islamic declaration of faith. These remarks added a new layer of controversy to an already tense political atmosphere.

Singling out Akhil Gogoi, who is the chief of the Raijor Dal and a sitting MLA from Sibsagar, Ajmal labelled him a "false man" and accused him of being a "Dalal" (agent) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), further intensifying the verbal sparring between the two political camps.

Responding to questions about an upcoming visit by Priyanka Gandhi to Assam, Ajmal made a comment that stirred additional attention. He expressed regret that his age prevented him from seeing Priyanka Gandhi, suggesting that he would have attended her event if he were younger.

The rally, where Ajmal delivered his controversial remarks, served as a stark reminder of the mounting tensions and intense exchanges that define the political scene in Assam as the election season is on. Just like individuals in a heated argument, political factions are passionately defending their positions and hurling accusations back and forth. As the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections looms closer, it's akin to waiting for the climax of a gripping drama, with people eagerly expecting the next twists and turns in this high-stakes battle for power.
