The first case of many MLAs dissatisfied over the current Cabinet expansion of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s party, inclusion of 7 new ministers in Sonowal Cabinet seems to have led to many resignations too.
The incident occurred right few hours the swearing in-ceremony of the 7 new ministers on Thursday at Raj Bhawan in Guwahati.
Senior BJP leader and MLA from Dibrugarh, Prasanta Phukan, who is currently holding the Chairman post of Dibrugarh Medical College, resigned from his two important posts today early morning. While one of the posts is the President of the special committee of BJP formed for the upcoming Panchayat Elections, the other post is the Chairman of the Governing Body of the Assam Medial College, Dibrugarh.
Prasanta Phukan stated in his statement made to the media that he is extremely dissatisfied over no being given a ministerial berth.
He reportedly said “Maybe, I do not deserve. Politics I like Algebra, it is not simple and senior-junior factors don’t come into play here,”
