Refusing to “bow down”, Bharatiya Janata party’s (BJP) Lok Sabha MP from Tezpur RP Sharma stated that he will prove his arrested daughter Pallavi Sharma’s innocence at the court.
The MP said that he will challenge Dibrugarh Police at the court and will prove his daughter’s innocence with proofs.
Nineteen Assam government officers were arrested on Wednesday as their handwriting did not match with that in their answer sheets in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) examination held in 2016.
“This is a conspiracy against me and my daughter has been used to take revenge against me. I will prove everything at the court when the proceedings in relation with the case will start. I have proofs. Whatever may be the situation, I am not going to bow down and will continue to fight for truth and justice,” said Sharma.
“I thank the government of Assam for arresting my daughter when I am in Kolkata for Nephrology treatment. My daughter was supposed to donate a kidney to me. Now, I might die too. My government is trying its best to malign my daughter’s image when I am here in pain. Hence I thank the government of Assam. I worked hard for five years to make Sarbananda Sonowal the chief minister,” he said.
Sharma also said that the investigation process of the APSC scam is “not transparent”.
“Three of the answer sheets cannot be manipulated. Arrests based on forensic tests are unconstitutional. I will prove everything in the court,” he said.
