Assam based touts helping illegal Rohingyas procure ID cards
The illegal Rohingya Muslims are emerging as serious security threats for the country. Assam-based touts are helping the Rohingyas to procure forged Indian identity documents. The centre has issued an alert notice in this regard to the state government.
As per latest reports, a new influx of immigrants has been noticed in Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Tamil Nadu.
A network of touts, spread across West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, are working in tandem to help the illegal Rohingyas procure forge ration, voter ID, PAN and Aadhar cards.

These touts are also helping the illegal Rohingyas to find jobs and settlement in the Indian states.
NGOs run by Muslim organizations are also helping the illegal Rohingyas by arranging for their stay at their camps.
The Centre, in the notification, further stated that the some of the illegal Rohingyas by arranging for their stay at their camps.

The Centre, in the notification, further stated that the some of the illegal Rohingyas are involved in illegal activities such as money laundering, anti-national activities, crimes, fabrication of Indian identity cards and so on. The Home Ministry also mentioned that some of the Rohingya refugees are also vulnerable to radicalization.
According to the intelligence agencies last year, there are around 40,000 Rohingya Muslims illegally settled across the country.
Assam police sources stated the radical elements in State tried to “brainwash’ people during the initial phase of the alleged atrocities on the Rohingyas.
“Appeals were made on the social media to stand up for the human rights of the Rohingyas. Few groups and individuals even crossed the Indo-Bangladesh border to help the Rohingyas in the relief camps. Emotions were running high during the initial phase,” said Assam Police sources.
