He further said that the state government is planning to construct a police medical college in Golaghat district, adding that this initiative will benefit the Assam Police and the public of Dergaon.
Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced plans to build new facilities at the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, Dergaon. He said that the government is planning to expand the advanced training academy with a new stadium for the people of Golaghat and Assam Police. Other facilities planned at the academy include a CBSE school, a nursing academy, and a skill training center for the Assam Police and the public.
Following the inauguration of the first phase of the revamped academy in Dergaon, the Chief Minister made the announcement.

Remembering the legendary Ahom general Lachit Barphukan, CM Sarma said that the academy is the first major institute built to honor one of the great fighters of Indian history. He also extended his gratitude to the Union Home Minister for his help and support in establishing the academy and preserving Lachit Barphukan's legacy.
