Assam CM Sarma's 3-day Chintan Shivir conduct to develop holistic development plans by 2026
The core purpose of CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's shivir is to build a roadmap for comprehensive state development by 2026.

Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Saturday that the major goal of organizing the Chintan Shivir is to build a strategy for the state's holistic development by 2026.

Assam Chief Minister and Religious Guru Sadhguru launched the three-day Chintan Shivir in Kaziranga, which began on Saturday.

"Starting today, the Assam government will hold a three-day Chintan Shivir at Kaziranga. The heads of all government departments and all state ministers will take part in the shivir. Both Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of the Art of Living and Spiritual Guru Sadhguru was present in the shivir today. In addition to them, some representatives from various states as well as the chief secretaries of Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh will take part in the shivir. On the final day of the shivir, members of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council will also be present. Our primary goal in holding the shivir is to create a blueprint for comprehensive state development by 2026 and strategies for moving the state ahead," according to Sarma.

The Assam Chief Minister added that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the "Save Soil" initiative led by his Isha Foundation and Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev had been inked.

The MoU would serve as a guide for our government's policies promoting sustainable land usage and preventing soil deterioration, Sarma continued.

The Assam Chief Minister and spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev held discussions at Kaziranga with cabinet ministers, senior state bureaucrats, officials from other states, and members of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council in an effort to develop a roadmap for the state's holistic development and to create a blueprint for accelerating its growth as we all make it a model in all sectors.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Sarma noted that Assam had previously seen greater economic prosperity than the nation as a whole.

He said that the state's per capita income was higher than the national average. Although the state makes a significant contribution to the economy of the country, Sarma added that over the past 75 years, the state's progress has not been as positive as it could have been.

The Chief Minister remarked that the destruction brought on by the enormous earthquake, the accompanying floods, and other events all had a severe impact on the general psychology of the populace.

The Chief Minister of Assam complimented Sadhguru for travelling so far to Kaziranga to speak at the Chintan Shivir.

In order to extend the benefits of development to all areas of the state, he claimed that Sadguru's wisdom and ideas will greatly assist the government in creating and promoting a socio-cultural-economic- and academic empowerment narrative in the state.

The Chintan Shivir's congregation heard a speech from Sadhguru as well. The Chief Minister and Sadhguru, who was a representative of the Isha Foundation, also signed an MoU on behalf of the state government.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed on behalf of the "Save Soil Movement" will effectively serve as state policy on the sustainable use of soil for agricultural practices.

Later, Sadhguru and Chief Minister Sarma unveiled three statues of rhinos at Mihimukh in Kaziranga.

The ashes gathered from burning rhino horns were used to build these statues of rhinos.

The Assam government made history on September 22, 2021, when a stockpile of 2479 rhino horns was set ablaze to send a clear message to poachers and illegal horn dealers that rhino horns have no therapeutic value.

In an effort to honour those who selflessly defend Assam's pride, big one-horned rhinoceros, and rhino monuments have been made that depict rhinos.

In addition to Sadhguru, the Assam Chief Minister this season officially opened Kaziranga National Park to visitors. Jayanta Malla Baruah, the minister of tourism for Assam, was also present.

On this particular occasion, Sadhguru drove a jeep while the Chief Minister was seated next to him, leading a jeep safari out of Mihimukh.
