Digital Desk: The Government of Assam announced the Assam Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme 2024. Under the scheme, every female resident of the state enrolled in 12th standard will receive a scooty who finds their name in the list of candidates scoring commendable marks in their upcoming examinations. This initiative is aimed to guarantee independence and mobility to the students of the state and to encourage higher education among young women in Assam.
The eligibility criteria for the beneficiaries of this scheme are that the female students should be permanent residents of Assam, should excel in class 12 final
examination with first division, and should study in a government school.The
government aims to ensure proper execution of the scheme allowing the deserving
students to benefit from this initiative.The beneficiaries who could avail of this scheme require an Aadhar Card, Email ID, Mobile number, Electricity Bill, Address proof, PAN Card, Passport Size photo, so as to conduct a seamless and
transparent execution.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the importance of empowering women through education and mobility. Through this scheme, the female students would receive a scooty from Assam State Authorities and financial assistance of INR 1000 to 1 Lakh students for textbooks.
