Digital Desk: The people of Assam could face a shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders in the coming days due to the closure of LPG transporters across the state indefinitely from July 25.
This follows the Northeast Packed LPG Transporter Association's (NEPLTA) demand for a strike that will last indefinitely, starting on July 24.
This strike has been announced by the NEPLTA as retaliation for Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) officials' failure to fulfill local transporters' demands.
Starting on July 24, seven plants' LPG transporters will be closed down. A number of LPG plants, including those in North Guwahati, Tinsukia, Gopanari, Sarpara, Bongaigaon, Dimapur, Silchar, and Duliajan, will shut down in support of the strike.
