Digital Desk: A father who believed a Class X student in
Tinsukia, Assam, to be dating his teenage daughter on Monday tied him up, beat
him, and cut off both of his ears.

Based on a FIR that the victim's mother filed, the police have
    detained the girl's father.

The individual has been accused by the police of violating
Indian Penal Code Section 326, which deals with intentionally causing great
    bodily harm using hazardous weapons.

himself called the police to report the incident. The entire episode was made
public when the child was questioned by the police about his wounds. The
individual was taken into custody on Monday night, "said Debojit Deuri, a
    Tinsukia SP.
