Guwahati: On November 22, Assam bagged the title of ‘Most improved Big state in economy’ and ‘Most improved big state Overall’ at India Today’s State of the States Conclave 2019 in New Delhi. Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary received both the awards on behalf of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Among the other states, Tamil Nadu emerged as the ‘Best performing big state’, Tripura won
‘Best performing and most improved Small state in agriculture’ and ‘Most improved Small state Overall’ while Mizoram had the honours of ‘Best performing Small state in inclusive development and environment; Most improved Small state in economy, health and tourism’.
India Today’s ‘State of the States’ study is to find out which states of India offer the best to the citizens. The judges categorize the states based on economy, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, education, law and order, entrepreneurship, governance, inclusive development, environment and cleanliness.
