Hanover : Assam’s pride, shooter Hriday Hazarika has brought laurels to the state by clinching two medals at the recently held international Shooting Competition of Hanover (ISCH) in Germany.
He struck gold at the 10 meters Air Rifle Junior (group) event and another bronze at the 10 meters at the 10 meters Air Rifle Junior men’s event.

Earlier, the seventeen-year-old shooter from Assam’s Lakhimpur kept up a superb show of sportsmanship continuing with his winning streak on the seventh day of the ISSF World Championship in Changwon after he won gold in the junior men’s 10m air rifle event of the shooting championship. He had also bagged gold at the 11th Asian Championship in the Air Rifle mixed team junior.

It may be mentioned that Hazarika was the lone Indian to qualify for the men’s final with a score of 627.3 was tied with Iran’s Mohammed Amir Nekounam on 250.1 once the field was pruned to the regulation top eight.
