Kaziranga: In the ravaging Assam flood triggered by incessant rain more than humans it is the poor animals who have been massively affected. Kaziranga national park is 95% submerged in flood water along with NH37 being completely inundated with water.

As per the reports provided by the forests officials on Thursday many animals have died in the flood of which wild deer –67 have died due to many reasons. Of the 67, 14 have died due to accidents, 39 have died due to drowning and the remaining 10 have died due to other reasons.
7 one horned rhinos have died due to drowning and other natural death. The Kaziranga national park the death of the animal have been reported as follows elephant-1, buffalo-1, wild pig-5, stag-1. Forests officials have managed to rescue 58 animals from the flood ravaged park.
Veterinary doctors have managed to treat 43 animals who were undergoing treatment for injuries and illnesses. Unfortunately 4 wild deer died while undergoing treatment. This year’s flood has been the most devastating as animals have been highly affected.
