In what can be called as a major boost to the degrading health care situation of Assam, the Assam Government in the presence of our honorable Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, introduced yesterday, the prestigious-Atal Amrit Abhiyan.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu Tweeted in Assamese that the health scheme-“Atal Amrit Abhiyan”, is one of the largest health cover schemes, which seeks to provide access to quality medical care to 3.2 crore people of Assam, in Guwahati today. Along with the tweet, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu also warned Assam government of the probable misuse of the scheme by those implementing it.
The Scheme has been architected by the Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma; the AAA Scheme will cover the cost of treatment and surgery of six disease groups and conditions: cardiovascular, cancer, kidney, neurology, neonatal and burns.
As per the scheme, a person can avail free treatment of Rs 2 lakh per year for a total of 438 procedures and surgeries at 23 empanelled super-specialty hospitals that include both government and private in Assam and 13 other renowned institutions outside Assam.
Along with the scheme, the state government has also introduced 24*7 call centre which will be serving to the needs and queries related to the scheme and guide the beneficiaries for the same.
